Stockfish
Knight’s Eye uses Stockfish 18 through Stockfish.js 18, distributed by the npm package stockfish 18.0.8. Stockfish and Stockfish.js are free software licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3. The bundled Lite JavaScript and WebAssembly files match the package’s single-threaded Lite artifacts. The Full JavaScript wrapper comes from that package with a one-line loading adaptation for the site’s streaming/Safari integration; the Full WebAssembly file is proxied from the version-pinned package distribution. Read the corresponding-source and reproduction information and the exact local modification.
Notation font
Knight’s Eye Chess Mono is a modified IBM Plex Mono Medium font. Its chess-piece glyphs were adapted for Knight’s Eye with AI assistance. IBM Plex Mono and the modified font are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Read the font license and attribution. The precise upstream IBM Plex Mono release used for the original local modification is not recorded.
Project artwork
The Knight’s Eye logo, glossy chess-piece artwork and move-quality icons were created for Knight’s Eye using AI-generation tools and project-directed editing and selection.
Other software
The application also includes open-source dependencies whose license notices are retained with their distributions, including Geist under the SIL Open Font License and react-json-view-lite under the MIT License.
